| I have recently discovered the true concept of listening. And no, I don't mean to people, but to God and myself. Over the past several months, I have been thinking about nothing but my future and what kind of person I want to be. Who I live with affects what kind of person I will be. The same applies to who I hang around, and what kind of relationship I have with my Father. It has become very clear to me how I should live my life.
I can't tell you how many times I've heard someone say, "I'm waiting to make this decision until I hear from God." OK. Yes, people hear from God on very rare occasions, but, is it up to God to tell you where to place every step you take? I don't believe so. God gave humans free will. We are to make decisions on our own. Now, I'm not saying God doesn't help us make decisions...that's what the Bible is for - it gives us guidelines and rules to follow to an extent.
Consider this. If you honestly believed you couldn't make decisions until you, "heard from God", then why does everyone make mistakes? I believe God lets us make our own decisions to learn from them if they fail. Just like parents do w/their kids. Also, if God made all our decisions for us, why would we want Him? No one would want to be a Christian; most children who have strict parents rebel against their parents. By letting us make our own decisions, it not only makes us learn from our mistakes, but it draws us closer to God. How awesome is that? Maybe I'm just thinking too deeply into this subject...and maybe I didn't explain it well enough to you...but I find it fascinating.
Anyway...about finding out how awesome it is to listen...I'm going to post one of MANY awesome things that have been happening in my life, besides the many bad things.
Last week, I was sitting in my room, trying to think of something to do other than homework. As my mind drifted, I started worrying about how badly I need a second job. Then I though, "MAN...it would be so awesome if I could get a job at my horseback riding center...but there's no way I want to clean stalls out all day for minimum wage and there's no way they would hire me as a teacher...I'm too young" So, I decided to pray about it.
Literally, the next day, the owner of Misty River Equestrian Center wants me to come and sit down in her office to, "talk to [me]." My heart started pounding because I'm thinking...OH NO!!!! I didn't do it! I swear! But then she says, "So...me and Carla (the manager) have been talking for a while about WHO we should hire for another Pony Pals teacher. Your name popped up and since you have great abilities with little kids, you have a great personality, and have experience in teaching, we were wondering if you would like to be a horseback riding teacher...starting next thursday."
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that was not just a coincidence.

| Have I ever mentioned how much I love Josh Turner? He's my favorite country singer...EVER. No one can beat his amazing, talented, VERY lowwww voice. Yes, I also love Brad Paisley for his hilarious lyrics...but Josh Turner...is, well,...Josh Turner (saying in a low, southern voice )
Here's lyrics to one of his songs, Long Black Train:
There's a long black train
Coming down the line
Feeding off the souls that are lost and crying
Tails of sin only evil remains
Watch out brother for that long Black Train
Look to the heavens
You can look to the skies
You can find redemption
staring back into your eyes
There is protection and there is
peace the same burn in your ticket for that
Long Black Train
cause there's victory in the lord I say
Victory in the lord
Cling to the father and his holy name
and don't go riding on that long Black Train
There's a engine there on that Long Black Train
making you wonder if your ride is worth the pain
he's just a waitin' on your heart to say
let me ride on that long black train
But you know there's victory in the lord I say
victory in the lord
Cling to the father and his holy name
and don't go riding on that long Black Train
Well I can hear the whistle from a mile away
it sounds so good
but I must stay away
that train is a beauty making everybody stare
but its only destination is the middle of nowhere
But you know there's victory in the lord I say
victory in the lord
Cling to the father and his holy name
and don't go ridin' on that long Black Train
I said cling to the father and his holy name and don't go ridin' on that black
train
yes watch out brother for that long black train
the devils a ridin' that long black train.

| 1) I am sick and tired of being sick and tired - very commonly used phrase but describes me right now so get over it.
2) My mom and I just took our very first belly dancing lesson together by watching an episode FitTV.............how weird/awkward is that???
3) Something VERY few people know about me: I am an extremely talented belly dancer...no jokes. I could teach the class on FitTV with ease. You should be jealous. Seriously.
4) Yet another pointless anatomy test is tomorrow that will have nothing to do with what applies to my future...let's see...anatomy, accounting....they both start with "a" and that is it. . why should i take anatomy?????? (does the big mashburn sigh)

haven't written on xanga in like...two years so I figure, why not now?
No one probably ever reads or looks at my xanga anymore but what the
heck...
I couldn't possibly tell you what all
has happened within the last two years in detail; so I'll give you a
quick layout. So far, I have accomplished many of my life goals in
just ONE year!? Crazy. I know. God has answered many prayers and
concerns; here are just a few things He has done in my life this last
year. 1) I no longer have braces: thank the Lord for that one!!!!, 2)
I got my license and my own car!, 3) I am currently employed at Shear
Bliss hair and nail salon in downtown Lee's Summit and am LOVING it, 4)
my ears are double pierced...heh, 5) I am now taking college classes at
Longview Community College.......College. but it's kinda funny because it's one of my easier classes....hmmm, 6) I OWN MY OWN HORSE!!!!!!!?????!?!?!?!?!?
(in order of emotions), 7) ...I have a horse...., 8) Her beautiful name
is Cadence and she's mine, 9) did you know that there are bumper
stickers that say that a, and I quote, Chestnut Thoroughbred Mare
(which is exactly what I have), are the craziest, worst, and the "don't
dare to get one" horses out there? ...heh. woops. I didn't find this
out until it was too late., 10) she's my baby and don't dare to say
anything bad about her. or else. well...I have my connections. . I could go on for hours about my new life...or you could just call me! .
my horse is amazing. oh!, 11) last summer I traveled out of America for
the first time!!! I went on a mission trip to Costa Rica. Let me just
say, "WOW" it was life changing.
